4 DAY FESTIVAL PASSES ON SALE NOW

It’s with unbridled enthusiasm and great pride we can reveal that one of metals most revered acts, Mercyful Fate, will headline Beyond the Gates 2020. The highly influential band helmed by legendary singer King Diamond, will perform a string of festival dates next summer, including their first ever show in Norway.
The venue for this very special occasion will be the iconic Grieghallen, famous in metal communities for housing the studio where Emperor, Mayhem, Enslaved and Immortal recorded many of their classic albums. It’s also one of Norway’s premier concert venues. Needless to say, this will be one for the books.

Mercyful Fate will perform a set comprised of classics from the very first «mini LP», «Melissa» and «Don’t Break The Oath», plus some brand new songs written specifically in that very same style.

Says the band in a statement announcing their reunion:
This will very much be Mercyful Fate as we were in the very beginning, except for a brand new major stage production.

Also confirmed for Beyond the Gates 2020 are Swedish favorites, Tribulation, rising metal stars, Idle Hands and Italy’s finest black metallers, Darvaza.

Beyond the Gates 2020 will run for four days, taking place in several different venues in the city center of Bergen, with USF Verftet still operating as the main arena. The festival is divided into four loosely conceptual days and will be the most diverse edition to date.
